GTA 6 characters: who is in the game?

Updated October 21, 2026

GTA 6 has two playable main characters, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, a couple drawn into crime together in the state of Leonida. Lucia is the series' first female lead in the modern era.

Lucia Caminos

Lucia grew up with her mother's dream of a better life, first in Liberty City and then in Leonida. She spent time in prison, and now she is out and determined to take what she wants instead of waiting for it.

Jason Duval

Jason had a rough childhood, then joined the Army to get away from it. After leaving, he ended up in the Leonida Keys working for local drug runners. Meeting Lucia could be the best or worst thing that ever happened to him.

Other confirmed characters

• Cal Hampton

Jason's friend, a conspiracy theorist who listens in on police radio.

• Boobie Ike

A Vice City local with a strip club, a studio and other businesses.

• Dre'Quan Priest

A music manager who runs a record label with Boobie.

• Real Dimez

A rap duo signed to Dre'Quan and Boobie's label.

• Raul Bautista

An experienced bank robber who looks for new partners.

• Brian Heder

A drug runner in the Keys who gives Jason work and a place to stay.

Can you switch between Lucia and Jason?

Rockstar has shown both characters but has not fully explained how switching works. GTA 5 let you swap between three characters, so many fans expect something similar.
